Exhibition of Children’s Photographs
6 April – 4 May 2006
Luzerner Kantonalbank
The opening ceremony of Children’s Photographs 2006 exhibition will take place at 6:00 pm on Thursday 6 April 2006 at the Luzerner Kantonalbank. This is the Saigon Children’s Charity first ever exhibition in Switzerland.
There will be 44 photographs exhibited. All of them are produced from the disadvantaged children from the Photography Project in the Thang Long Vocational Training school supported by Saigon Children’s Charity in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City. The pictures cover a variety of subjects and all show us a fascinating glimpse into the lives of young Vietnamese children and the world seen through their eyes.
The photography project at our Thang Long Vocational Training School of District 4 in Ho Chi Minh City was set up in 1996. District 4 has a reputation for poverty and the concentration of social deprivation there means that young children are vulnerable to exploitation. We believe that by giving these youngsters training in the right skills we can also give them the choices that they should be allowed to make in life.
